Volunteering

The Asylum is run by the Victorian Steampunk Society.  We are a small, not for profit organisation that started the event because the UK steampunk community were clamouring for it.  Over the years it has grown to be the largest event of its kind in the World.  Even so we are still run by a group of volunteers and the event relies upon volunteer staff too.

Would you like to volunteer?  Are you able to help the event be a success? Do you like meeting people and do you love steampunk?

We are particularly looking for volunteer stewards.  Duties include checking wristbands, offering information, helping set up and run features, supervising exhibits and generally helping out.  Volunteer stewards are expected to work three, four-hour shifts over the weekend.  In return you get the cost of your weekend wristband refunded at the end of your last shift. You can even work just one shift for a single day wristband. It’s a great way to meet people and a great way to feel you are part of such a fun event.

If you are 18 or over and would like to volunteer, then please complete the submission form below and your details will be passed on to Jackie, our volunteers coordinator.

Thank you.
